How to play
See the trumps
Thirteen cards each. The last card dealt is turned up, and its suit is trumps for the hand: trumps beat every other suit.
Win tricks
Follow the suit led if you can. The highest card of that suit wins the trick, unless someone plays a trump, and then the highest trump wins.
Score the extras
Your side scores one point for each trick over six. The first side to reach the target wins the game.

First side to 5 points wins.

Good to know
Quick answers about playing Whist on Wittlo.
Is Whist free?
Yes. It is free to play, with no sign-up and nothing to install.
Who is my partner?
North, the player across the table. You and North work together against West and East.
How are trumps chosen?
By the last card dealt, which goes to the dealer and is shown face up. Its suit is trumps for that hand.
How is a hand scored?
There are thirteen tricks. A side that takes more than six scores one point for each extra trick.
Why can I not play some cards?
You must follow the suit led if you have it. The game dims the cards you cannot play and tells you why.
Is my game saved?
Yes. A game is saved at the start of each hand, so you can carry on later. Nothing is sent anywhere.
