What is Wittlo?
A free site of puzzles, word games, card games and vocabulary flashcards. Players pick a game and play it in their browser. Nothing needs to be installed.
How old do players need to be?
Wittlo is built for players aged 13 and over. It is not aimed at younger children. We do not ask for or check a visitor's age, so if your child is under 13, please decide together whether the site is right for them.
Is there chat, or can my child talk to strangers?
No. There is no chat, no comments, no messages and no way to post anything. Players cannot contact each other.
Can my child spend money here?
No. Nothing on the site is for sale today. If we ever add paid extras, buying will be for adults, and we will say how on this page first.
Is there advertising?
Not today. If we add advertising, we will update this page and the privacy policy first. If your child ever sees an advert that does not seem suitable, please tell us at contact@wittlo.com with the page it appeared on, so we can have it removed.
Do you collect personal data from my child?
Not for playing. Every game works with no account, and we do not ask for a name, email address or age. The games run in the browser and nothing a player types is sent to us. The one exception is the optional Google sign-in, which is needed only for the Print, Make your own and Stats pages: if someone signs in, Google shows their name, email address and profile photo address to the page, and we keep them only in that browser to recognise them. They are not sent to us. We ask players to confirm they are 13 or over before signing in. The site remembers things like streaks and unfinished games on the device itself, and you can clear that in the browser settings.
What do the games contain?
Puzzles, word games, number games, card games and word lists. The vocabulary lists have original definitions and example sentences written for the site. The site makes no claim about school or test results.
How can I check or reset what the site has stored?
Open the browser settings for this site and clear its data. Streaks, saved games, flashcard progress and any sign-in will start again from nothing. We keep no account list, so there is nothing to delete from our records.
