How to play

  1. Discard to the crib

You each get six cards. Choose two to put face down in the crib, which belongs to the dealer. Keep four cards that work well together: pairs, runs, and cards adding to 15.

  2. Play to 31

A starter card is turned up. Then you and the computer take turns putting down cards, keeping a running count up to 31. You score for making 15 or 31, pairs, and runs, and one for the last card.

  3. Count the hands

Each hand, and then the crib, is counted with the starter: 2 for every fifteen, 2 for a pair, a point per card in a run, and a flush or his nobs. The game shows you every item. First to 121 wins.

Quick answers about playing Cribbage on Wittlo.

Is Cribbage free?

Yes. It is free to play, with no sign-up and nothing to install.

What is the crib?

Four cards, two from each player, set aside face down. It is counted for the dealer after the hands.

Who deals first?

The computer. The deal then swaps each hand.

What is his nobs?

One point for holding the jack of the same suit as the starter card.

What is a "go"?

When a player cannot play without going over 31, the other player continues, and the last player to play scores a point. The game does this for you.

Is my game saved?

No. A game is quick, so one you leave part-way is not kept.
