Yes. It is free to play, with no sign-up and nothing to install.
How is my speed worked out?
The number of words in the story divided by the time you took, in minutes.
What is a normal reading speed?
Studies of adults reading silently report averages of roughly 240 to 260 words per minute for stories and non-fiction, with a wide ordinary range of about 175 to 320.
Why are there questions?
Skimming is easy to do fast. The questions check that you took the story in, because a speed only counts if you understood.
Does this measure how clever I am?
No. Reading speed changes with the text, the day and how you read. This is a bit of fun and not a measure of ability.
