How to play

It is your move. Somewhere there is a move that forces checkmate on your next turn, however the opponent replies.
Play your first move
Tap a piece, then tap a highlighted square. If the move does not force mate in two, the game says so and you can try again.
Deliver the mate
The opponent replies, and then you play checkmate. Press Hint if you are stuck, or Give up to see the full line.

Quick answers about playing Daily Chess Puzzle on Wittlo.
Is Daily Chess Puzzle free?
Yes. It is free to play, with no sign-up and nothing to install.
Where do the puzzles come from?
From the Lichess puzzle database, which is released under CC0 (public domain). The puzzles come from real games. Every one was checked here: each starts from a legal position and ends in checkmate in two.
What does mate in two mean?
You move, the opponent makes any reply, and then you give checkmate. So you only have to find the first move that makes mate unavoidable.
Is there only one right first move?
Usually, but not always. If another first move also forces checkmate in two, it is accepted too.
How hard are they?
They range from easy to fairly tough. Each day is a different puzzle, and the practice button picks one at random.
