How to play Anagram
The letters of a word have been scrambled. Put them back in order to make a real word.
The rules, step by step
- You are shown a set of scrambled letters, for example N I A R.
- Rearrange them in your head to make a word that uses every letter exactly once.
- Type your answer and press Check. Any real word that uses exactly those letters counts.
- Press Shuffle letters to see them in a different order. Press Hint if you are stuck.
An example
The letters N I A R can be rearranged to make RAIN.
Try the common endings first. Letters like I, N and G often make an ending such as ING.
Tips
- Look for pairs of letters that often go together, such as TH, CH or ST.
- Shuffling the letters helps, because a different order can make a word jump out.
- Pick the length you like: 4 letters is easiest, and 8 or 9 letters is a real challenge.
