How to play Equation Scramble
The tiles of a true equation are mixed up. Put them back so it is true again.
The rules, step by step
- Choose a size: 6, 7 or 8 tiles. The daily puzzle is the same for everyone.
- The tiles are shown below the empty places. Tap a tile to put it in the next place, or type the digit or sign.
- Tap a placed tile, or press Backspace, to take it back.
- When every place is full, press Check. A true equation that uses every tile exactly once solves it.
- There can be more than one right answer. Press Hint if you are stuck, and it fills in the next tile.
An example
With the tiles 1, 2, 3, + and =, both 1+2=3 and 2+1=3 are right.
Tips
- The right side of the equation is a single whole number, so look for the sign that makes the left side add up to it.
- The = sign cannot be first or last, and a sign cannot be the last tile of the left side.
- Multiplication and division happen before adding and subtracting.
