How to play Four in a Row
Drop discs into a grid and line up four before the computer does.
The rules, step by step
- The grid has seven columns and six rows, standing upright. You play red and the computer plays yellow.
- On your turn, tap the arrow above a column. Your disc falls to the lowest empty space in that column.
- The first to line up four of their own discs in a row, across, down or diagonally, wins.
- If the grid fills up without a line of four, the game is a draw.
- Choose Easy, Medium or Hard. Press Hint for a good column to play, and Undo to take back your last move and the computer's reply.
An example
You have three red discs side by side along the bottom, with an empty space at one end. Drop a disc in that column, and you have four in a row.
Tips
- The middle columns are the most valuable, because discs there can join more lines.
- Watch for the computer's threes with an empty space beside them, and block the space in time.
- Try to build two threats at once. The computer can only block one of them.
