How to play Letter Grid
Link neighbouring letters in a 4 by 4 grid to find as many words as you can in three minutes.
The rules, step by step
- The board is a 4 by 4 grid of letters.
- Make a word by linking neighbouring tiles. Neighbours include the diagonals, but you cannot use the same tile twice in one word.
- Tap the tiles or type the word, then press Enter. Words must have at least three letters.
- You have three minutes. Longer words score more: 3 or 4 letters score 1, 5 letters 2, 6 letters 3, 7 letters 5 and 8 letters 11.
- At the end you see every word the board contained.
An example
If C, A and T sit next to each other in a chain, you can link them to make CAT.
Tips
- Look for common endings such as -ING, -ED and -S first.
- The dictionary is large and includes some rare words, so do not rule out an unusual word.
- Today's board is the same for everyone, so you can compare scores with a friend.
