How to play Skyscrapers
Fill the grid with heights so each edge number counts the buildings you can see.
The rules, step by step
- Choose a size and a level. The daily puzzle is the same for everyone.
- Every row and every column uses each height from 1 to the size of the grid exactly once.
- The numbers around the edge say how many buildings you can see from that side. A tall building hides shorter ones behind it.
- Type a height into a square. Squares that break a rule turn red when you press Check.
- Solve the whole grid to finish. Press Hint if you are stuck.
An example
In a 4x4 grid, a row with the clue 4 on the left must read 1, 2, 3, 4 from the left, because every building has to be taller than the one before.
Tips
- Start with the clues of 1: the tallest building is next to the edge.
- A clue equal to the grid size makes that row or column rise 1, 2, 3, and so on.
- The tallest building can never be hidden, and the shortest only shows when it is first.
