How to play Sliding Tiles
Slide numbered tiles into order. The 8 puzzle and the 15 puzzle.
The rules, step by step
- The board holds numbered tiles and one blank space.
- Tap a tile next to the blank to slide it in. The arrow keys also work.
- Put the numbers in order, reading across each row, with the blank in the bottom right corner.
- Every board can be solved. Press Restart to go back to the start of the same board.
A way to solve it
Solve the top row first, then the next row, working down. The last two rows are easiest solved together, a column at a time.
Tips
- Begin with the 3 by 3 board (the 8 puzzle).
- Do not disturb tiles you have already placed unless you have to. If you do, put them back before moving on.
- The last few tiles take patience: it is normal to move several tiles out of place and back in again.
