How to play Speed Math
Sixty seconds of mental arithmetic. Answer as many as you can and beat your best.
The rules, step by step
- Choose a level. Level 1 is adding and subtracting small numbers, level 2 is times tables up to 12, level 3 uses bigger numbers, and level 4 has two-step questions.
- Press start. You have 60 seconds.
- Type each answer as fast as you can and press Enter.
- Every answer is checked automatically. At the end you see your score. Try to beat your own best.
- Level 4 questions follow the usual order of operations: multiplication and division before addition and subtraction.
An example
A level 4 question such as 3 + 4 × 5 is 23, not 35, because the multiplication comes first.
Tips
- Start on level 1 or 2 and move up when it feels easy.
- Accuracy matters as well as speed: a wrong answer wastes time.
- There is nothing to sign up for, and your best score stays on your own device.
