How to play Word Clearout
Trace words through a grid of letters to clear it. The letters above drop down as you go.
The rules, step by step
- Choose a level and a mode. The daily puzzle is the same for everyone.
- Tap letters that touch, sideways, up, down or diagonally, to spell a word of four or more letters.
- Press Clear word. Those letters vanish and the letters above them drop down.
- Clear every letter to win. Press Undo to take back the last word, or Hint for the start of a word.
An example
If a column reads T over A over C, and a word needs the C, clear the letters beneath it first so the C drops where you need it.
Tips
- Clear words from the bottom and the sides first, so letters above fall into new places.
- Look for the awkward letters, such as Q, J or X, and plan a word around each early.
- If you cannot finish, use Undo. Every board can be cleared.
